Panzer II “Luchs” - Weeks 57-61

Week 57 through Week 61, continuing work on the Aufbau, engine covers and ancillaries.

Torsion bars going into Alpha. Starting to go back together. Starts with torsion bars.

Eddie banging away on inserting the torsion bars. Not too snug but a little bit. We made a tool to protect the splines of the torsion bars. So Eddie can bang away.

Michael is fabricating the engine deck armored air vent covers.

Checking the fit on Omega

Armored air vent covers on engine decking, you can see the locks to the left of the picture.

Fitted to Omega's Motor Cover, tow cable attachments still need to be added, wire mesh over the air intakes and a few other small details before it is finished.

Working on the Aufbau, one small little oops on this, anyone catch it, we will have to fix that..

Drivers and radio operators hatches with the door handles fitted, and the rubber shock mounts for the 80 watt mounted, small light for the Funker and webbing grab handles installed.

Drivers and radio operators hatches with handles... grab handles mounted. The handles are for when we jump the panzer off of a dirt ramp over a car.... Gives us something to hold on to while were in the air at zero gravity. Do you believe that???
